Should I buy a MacBook Air?

Hi everyone.

I’m deciding on whether or not I should buy the latest MacBook Air to link with my Apple Vision Pro. I would love to be more productive, especially with email, data analytics, and writing articles, but find it pretty tedious to do so within the AVP alone.

Would buying a MacBook Air increase my productivity? Since I do most of my work in a Windows-dominated environment, would Parallels work inside an AVP environment when connected to the MacBook Air?

Thanks so much for helping out!

The processors in Apple Silicon Macs run a completely different kind of machine code than Intel processors use – and Apple Silicon Macs don't support Boot Camp for dual-booting Windows.

You can get Parallels Desktop and install Windows 11 in a virtual machine, but it won't be the regular Intel version of Windows 11. It will be a special version of Windows 11 built for ARM processors. That version of Windows 11 can run some off-the-shelf Intel applications, but only with overhead and limitations. It has to compensate for the applications being built for the "wrong" type of machine code.

If you are doing "most of your work" in Windows, it might be best for you to get a Windows/Intel or WIndows/AMD laptop.
