Old iPad still shows up in Screen Time

Hello, and thanks in advance for any assistance on this.

I got a new iPad about two months ago and traded in my old one. Before doing so, I signed out of the old iPad, turned off Find My, and factory reset it before trading it in at the Apple Store.

Ever since then, I’ve noticed that my old iPad still shows up in Screen Time as one of my devices. However, when I check the devices tied to my Apple ID, the old iPad is no longer listed.

Does anyone have any ideas why this might be happening or how I can remove it from the Screen Time list?

Something to try...

Don't forget, your ScreenTime statistics are calculated across seven days. When sharing this data between devices, as currently configured, this data is aggregated.

On each of your remaining devices, disable ScreenTime data sharing between devices:

Settings > ScreenTime > Share Across Devices - set to OFF

With the setting disabled, restart each of your devices.

Force restart iPad - Apple Support

Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

Shut down or restart your Mac - Apple Support

After restarting all of your devices, you can re-enable ScreenTime data sharing should you choose to do so.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, turning Screen Time off and back on didn't fix it.

I have been ignoring it but sometimes if I try looking at my iPad's screen time, I end up selecting the wrong one. Minor inconvenience. Maybe a software update in the future will fix it. Ill report it to Apple.

I could just give the newer iPad a different name but I'd prefer not to.

Darn. It sounds as if you did everything right so I'm not sure what else to try. You could, I suppose, reset all settings. But that is so annoying to recover from. And it might not even work.

Oh, I get it. Definitely report it.
