iTunes (+match) not working

My issue, my local itunes is not syncing well with match. If i update a Playlist (level 1-3) name it won't/may not change (perhaps for a few minutes but not perm). I wanted to fresh install Apple Music app but read I cannot... I do not subscribe to Apple music and will not but I do subscribe to match. Sync is turned on and I continuously cycle "sync" on and off but no improvement. I attempt to Update Cloud Library but it runs all night and never syncs however, I believe I am seeing new music.... My playlist library is a little extensive but shouldn't be an issue for "iTunes"!

Any advice @turingtest2

Hi there.

It might be worth holding down option+cmd as you launch Music which will then open in its safe mode. This appears to do some housekeeping on the database which may make it more stable. The matching/uploading features in iTunes Match/Apple Music rely on the Genius component of the database. At a guess this file wasn't updating properly and your manual Update Genius command has reset it. Another way to do this is to dive inside the .musiclibrary package (right-click, Show Package Contents, while Music is closed) and delete the Genius.itdb file within, which makes Music rebuild it from scratch on the next launch.

I may have just fixed. This time I tried hitting "Update Genius". It told me to turn off, then back, on sync, so I did. Once turned back on Update Genius started up again immediately, and now I apparently see my playlist updates perm. Not certain why cycling sync on and off (alone) did NOT work but I will take it.

!!!!However I am still consistently getting the "An Error Occurred" msg.
