I've always said that if you wait until the next new thing to come out before you buy, you'll be waiting forever.

If you plan on buying the current iPad Pro, but want to know if you should wait because of iOS 18 features that won't be available yet, I'd say buy it. It'll give you time to set up the iPad and then when iOS 18 is released, it's not going to be a pain to update.

Apple isn't going to lower the price based on a new release of iOS. They just came out with the iPad Pro this year, so it's going to be another year before a newer model is released.

Yes, it's worth it.

These are the iPad Pro's that will be compatible with iPad OS 18:

  • iPad Pro (M4)
  • iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation and later)
  • iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation and later)

There is always going to be a new iPad just around the corner and Apple does not telegraph when those will be launched. Obviously the M4 is the latest chipset with the best longevity currently. The choice is yours.

Yes.

New iPad Air M2 and iPad Pro M4 models were released earlier this year.

Contributors here are all end-users just like you - and therefore have no knowledge of Apple's product release roadmap prior to public announcement. That said, given that new 2024 models have already been released, it is perhaps unlikely that any changes to the now current range of iPad models.

All current models of iPad will support iPadOS 18 when it is released.
