Mac wifi dropping frequently

wifi had been fine for over two years and then started dropping after about 2-4 min. had to restart my mac to get the wifi back and then only another 2-4 min. l tried many of the solutions listed here and elsewhere and got it to work for a couple of days but then the frequent drops resumed.

My solution was totally different than changing configs. I had recently dropped Norton and found the norton VPN still in the VPN tab. When I removed the norton VPN link the wifi resumed and has been up for over two hours now.

Uninstall All Security Software:

VPNs mingle with your IP Address and how you are assigned to a server on the internet. So, avoid using one, unless required for school or work. Security Software just gets in the way on a Mac, and this is a pure example of how and why.

IMPORTANT:

Use an uninstaller, rather than just dragging-&-dropping it to the trash.
