360° Basic 3D Text is blurry on FCPx 10.8.1

Hello. I love the "360° Basic 3D" Text effect but using it on my video gives blurry text.

I have chanced upon a thread somewhere online where someone said "360° Basic 3D" is to be used only on 360° projects. Is that true?

Is there a way to make this excellent text style template work for regular video?

It seems that if you go into the Effects Inspector and *turn off* Orientation, the text sharpens right up. It also gets a bit smaller so you need to adjust either the font size or the Scale (also in the Effects inspector). I would also recommend going into the Text Inspector and increase the Depth of the 3D Text. Be aware that the "conversion" from 360 to 3D will create a curvature in the plane of the text:

Depending on your point of view, this might even be *more* interesting!

Can you please elaborate on this? Better how? Does it have any features besides its 360 characteristics, that the other one does not have? Maybe there is something to be done about it. Templates are defined in Motion, so if you need something like a published parameter, it may perhaps be added. But making the 360 version work correctly in a non-360 project is a nonstarter, as far as I can tell.
