Apple Car Play sends Text through Messenger.

When I send aText it goes through Messenger instead of a regular Text message. It didn’t before. What changed?

I have a 2021 Truck.

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 16

Car Play text messages wont' play after ios update I see this has been posted a few times but can't find a solution detailed. I use wired carplay in my F150, my wife uses wireless in her brand new Mazda. Since we both updated to IOS18.1.1 neither one of us gets a notification on the screen in our vehicles when we get a text message. Previous to the update, it didn't matter what screen we were in, we'd get a text notification pop up, and then it would take you to the Car Play screen. Now, nothing. Meaning I have to regularly tap the screen to open Car Play to see if the text icon is showing a message has been received. Is there a fix for this?

WhatsApp not reading messages in CarPlay For some reason my CarPlay is no longer reading my WhatsApp messages (it will read texts as before however). It will announce a WhatsApp being received but when I press to hear the message the car simply says “would you like to reply?” It’s always worked fine in the past but recently has stopped- is it a bug in a recent update?

Text messages showing on 2018 Toyota Sienna I have an iphone 11. Several month ago my text messages stopped showing up on Toyota screen. If I was driving I had the option to play the message. Now I get a quick notification that a text was received but no option to play it. I have to stop in order to read it on my phone or look for it on the car screen. The Blue Tooth "expert" at my dealership hadn't a clue why this was happening other then to blame it on an update. How can I get my texts to show up on the car screen again with the option to "play" it while driving.

Hello,

Please go to CarPlay Settings in your iPhone Settings and unselect Messenger.
