Sonoma 14.6.1 Cache wont delete

How to delete cache when it says, "you dont have permission" . example in Finder ~ /Library/Cache. says you dont have permission to delete. Using Sonoma 14.6.1


What is the fix for this?


My screen is flickering and Im using this approach as a diagnostic tool.

If you listen to what the Social Media Websites suggestion.



They tend to give incorrect, misinformation or disinformation


Clearing the System Cache files is a easy as restarting the computer in Safe Mode


Be aware, System cache file will be automatically recreated as the Operating System requires


There is nothing the user can do to stop this from happening

I had a very similar problem that "you don't have permission" when I tried to use Finder to access my downloads, also had "Show Downloads" from Safari/View greyed out. Spent cumulative 3 hours with 2 Apple techs (very nice folks) and a Supervisor who solved the problem with the following commands:


Finder>Get Info (under File) >undo “LOCKED” and change “PRIVILEGE” under Sharing and Permissions from whatever to "Read & Write"

PS we speculated that with the last update about 4 days ago with Sonoma 14.6.1 my Dropbox may have interfered with the settings.
