Exporting files in Final Cut Pro 10.8 - Very Poor Quality

Hello!

I'm exporting a .h264 video file from Final Cut Pro X (latest version 10.8). The video was shot in 4k at 23.98, edited in a 1920x1080 23.98 timeline, it looks very good in the timeline in FCP, but terrible when I export, it looks very compressed, lots of pixels and not sharp. I don't know what's going on, I tried exporting a .mpeg4, (better quality) it looks a little better but still not that great.

Any help on this is MOST appreciated!! Thank you!

I've uploaded 2 screenshots.

As the other 2 contributors have suggested, a lot can depend on how you are viewing the image.

Almost anything will look brilliantly sharp on a small screened laptop but view it on a 60" TV a metre away and it's a whole different story.

It would help if you could post a few seconds of video on a platform like DropBox so that we could examine it.
