While Apple offers the opportunity to return an unwanted or unsuitable device within 14-day of the original purchase, beyond this timeframe the opportunity is lost. Unfortunately, Apple's trade-in programme does not accept current-model devices - and as such the recently purchased iPad is unlikely to qualify.

You also need to be aware that where the device does qualify for trade-in, its assessed value will be considerably less than you paid for the device. As such, if you really need to swap the iPad for a Mac computer, you would be best advised to sell the iPad privately. In so doing you may be able to recover a substantial proportion of the original purchase cost - which you can put towards a device more suitable for your needs.
