How do I arrange songs independently in my Apple Music playlists?

Trying to rearrange songs in a Music playlist, but it's not permitting me.

Strangely, I have other playlists where it is possible to drag and move songs independently, but other playlists Ive created that only allow the songs to be arranged by Title/Genre/Year etc, but I want a bespoke order.

Any idea why?

moving tracks to the top of long playlists...quickly. I have several 'running' playlists where I add newly acquired songs that I like. When I add songs to these ( or any ) playlists, I'd like Apple Music default behaviour to be to add them to the top of the list so that when I next start the list, I hear the most recently added songs first. Is there a way to accomplish this? I'm really tired of having to drag the song to a playlist, and then drag them again from the bottom all the way to the top , past the several hundred songs that already in the playlist. Or, if that is outside the realms of knowledge of the biggest tech company in the World, maybe a shortcut to moving tracks to the top quickly?

How to reordering playlist with Apple Music on windows 11 I have one play list without numbers, in this playlist I can reorder songs with drag and drop. I also have another playlist where each song has a number in this playlist it is not possibel to reorder songs by drag and drop. How can I reorder songs in the second play list ? Both playlists are displayed with : Sort by : playlist number , increasing Show as: playlist The text in menues are my interpretarion, I have a Norwegian text version of Apple Music

Arraigning songs within a Apple playlists Why can’t I arrange my music within my play list any more? Yes I have read the help responses about the triangle above the number. The problem is that my playlists don’t have numbers preceding the song title.

View > Sort By > Playlist Order. Then you can drag songs up or down.
