2 External hard drives intermittently do not connect to my MacBook Pro

I have problem with two discs M2 1TB KC3000.

Both work well on windows, no issues. But on My Macbook pro sometimes they work, and sometimes the system doesn't see them. I've got them on two different cases, one budgetary, second one with fan, good quality. I've tried different cables, usb-c, throug hub, from T5 samsung and case is always the same: when i put in in windows it works, then in mac works, but i can unplug it 2-3-4-5 times and on last time it will not show up. There is no rule. Then i go to windows - it works, back to mac - works, but after unpluging it happens again - mac doesn't see it until i plug it on my desktop windows.

It happens with both of them, as i said different cases, different cables etc. Both formated exFAT.

I do all above what you've wrote, but i didn't indicated that this happens ONLY with KC3000 2TB discs. I have also lexar800pro 2TB and few other samsungs 1TB and none of this happens on them. Also i've replaced one kc3000 on warranty because it died after few weeks, so it should be ok. Only thing left is to check the discs on other mac.

Make sure you are using thunderbolt cables on the Mac. Also make sure your Energy Saver Settings are set to not put hard drives to sleep. Lastly, don't try to use the hard drives after closing the display lid, until you restart the computer. Some hard drives do not take well to the low power mode of Macs once the computer goes to sleep. It is good you are using case with a fan, which usually means it has its own power supply. If your Mac is under AppleCare and you are doing as I suggest, call AppleCare to find out if there is anything wrong with your ports. They may find there is something in the ports ruining connectivity that you would not be something you should repair yourself.
