unstable volume with AirPods 3

I-Phone 14, new AirPods 3, latest IOS. When inactive, volume fades to nothing. I’m using VoiceOver so that’s creating a problem.

There are a few things you can try to resolve this issue:

  • Go to Settings > Accessibility > AirPods > Audio Accessibility Settings and make sure that the audio routing settings are configured properly for VoiceOver. You may want to disable any automatic ear detection features or adjust the VoiceOver volume independently in the VoiceOver settings.

  • In Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Call Audio Routing, ensure that audio routing is set to Automatic. Also, check under Settings > Accessibility > Audio & Visual > Balance to confirm that the balance is centered and that there are no other audio settings interfering with normal volume levels.

  • Try resetting your AirPods. To do so, place them in the case, close the lid, wait 30 seconds, then open the lid. Hold the button on the back of the case until the light flashes amber, then white. Reconnect them to your iPhone and see if the issue persists.
