I believe that NCPI has set a requirement that apps can only support UPI payments on iOS 17 (or higher).

You can update an iPhone 7 as far as the latest release of iOS 15. You cannot update it to iOS 16 or higher. If you want to use UPI payment apps, it is time for a new iPhone, preferably one that will be compatible with iOS 18 when iOS 18 comes out. It's Time to Upgrade:

Seems you need to upgrade past iOS15. To do so, you need an iPhone that is compatible with iOS versions released after iOS15. So, take this as good reason to upgrade to a newer iPhone.
