I just installed NordVPN on my appleTV and I can change country to Ireland (I am currently in Germany). Yet the movies, despite few languages listed are playing only in German. I would be happy to pay to watch movies on any legitimate service as long as I can choose the language. Any workaround?

The Apple services are mostly not affected by a VPN. You won’t get access to different titles in the Store for movies, nor get access to different content languages, nor get access to a different App Store. The only thing that is decisive for this, is the country or region setting for your Apple ID. A VPN will not help you change any of that when it comes to Apple’s offerings.
Actually no. Too much hustle as I have subscriptions. This is not an option for me.
But for example YouTube plays all ads in English now. Just Apple TV is causing a problem so far.
