I need to search a PDF for some words that contain diacritics (accents, eg é à) but I don't know what the accents are. The search comes back 'Nothing found'. How do I search for these words?

I'm searching a PDF document (a dictionary in a obscure foreign language) but as I am learning the language, I am not always sure of the diacritics/accents of the word. I want to be able to enter a search for 'noko' and have the results show 'nókò' or 'nókó', etc. In other words, I want to be able to enter a search for a word without diacritics, but have the search ignore whether there are diacritics or not.

Without this possibility, it is impossible for me to find out how a word in the dictionary is properly spelt or pronounced. It should be possible to search for words with or without diacritics, like you can with or without capitals, but I don't know how to do it. Please can someone help? Thank you!

In Preview with an open PDF document containing words with diacritical marks, you must enter at minimum, the actual diacritical mark (e.g. é) to find the word containing it. Entering just the letter 'e' will not find the diacritical. When in the Preview Search 🔍 field, you can enter and hold down on the letter e to see numbered character options and the diacritical é is among them. That same process holds true for other diacritical receptive characters.
