Hooking up display to MacBook Air

Trying to hook up monitor to my MacBook Air using hdmi cords and appropriate dongle

no luck other than Home Screen picture

Connecting Koorui screen to MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) Hi, I need to connect an external screen (Koorui) to my MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015). The screen only has a mini HDMI port and two USB-C ports. I've got a cable that connects from the laptop's USB port to the screen's USB-C port but the screen says 'no signal'. I've tried going to the Apple menu / System preferences / Displays but there is no option to access and Display options. I'm stumped. Any help appreciated.

It sounds as if it is operating correctly, but in extended desktop mode. The article below may help.
