I’m trying to move my iTunes library to a new pc. After consolidating the library I’ve tried to export the library playlists as an .itl but it only exports as an .html file. iTunes won’t recognise it. Help please!
There has never been a .itl export option. You can export individual playlists in text, M3U and XML formats, for example, or the whole library in an XML format. With iTunes closed you can copy the entire .itl to make a copy of it, e.g. as a backup before making changes to the library.

Thanks for that. What I’m struggling to do is export the library (approx 1,000 playlists) in a format that iTunes on the new pc can see. All I’m getting is an html file. Is this no longer possible or am I just missing something?
