I am unable to logout of my Apple ID on my MacBook.

My dad gave me an invite to Family Sharing but I wanted to decline. It won't let me, saying that it's invalid (he tried redoing it so I can decline but that didn't work) and now there's just a red alert dot on my System Preferences. I wanted to try to sign out and in again to see if that would solve the problem, but it's not even letting me do that. It's just 'loading', you can see the spinning icon at the bottom. Tried restarting twice. Any advice?

I have a valid and active appleid which I can use here. But as I cannot log out from the existing one, I am unable to log in using another account.
