If you are selecting the emails from a list, select the first message.
Then press the Command key and click on the others you wish to select.
Then press the Delete key.

Thanks so much! Meanwhile I remembered my old method of doing this. Find all of the emails one wishes to delete. Click on the first one. Press "shift." Go to the last one. Click on it. Press "delete." Voilá!
