Recover photos from broken phone with full iCloud

The screen on my phone (iphone 10) is not working although the phone is still "alive".

I had photos synced to the iCloud but a few months ago it got full. If I buy more iCloud storage will they automatically get uploaded? Or is there any other way to get them?

Thanks

Probably not. If you have not restarted the device since the “few months ago,” and the device hasn’t required a restart, then it may still complete an iCloud backup or photos sync when locked and connected to power. I’d say it’s doubtful given the length of time passed but it doesn’t hurt to try. There is no other way to retrieve the data.
