random sounds coming from my phone at night when ringer is on

It's Grindr!!! They just added a stupid "grunt" sound. Thanks to the person posting above for mentioning this because as soon as I googled, I found the idiotic sound. It was driving me crazy! Search "Grindr grunt sound" and you'll have it.

Subscribing. This has been happening for me too. I can’t figure it out! Usually always late at night after I turn my ringer on. Quite disturbing. I have been trying to turn off sound notification settings for different apps that I suspect to no success. Feels recent, can only remember it happening in the last few weeks or so.

My current working theory is it semi-aligns with the 1-hour post being online with Grindr so when it goes “offline.” Not sure if you are a user of this app as well. But I can’t find any support documentation referencing this noise, and I have sound notifications turned off for that app, so it shouldn’t be happening. But that is the only correlation I have been able to come up with currently.
