iMessage blocked!

My iMessage is blocked and no one at Apple is helping me!!! I have been on the phone with Apple for HOURS since August 12th. This is a reoccurring problem because there are numerous discussions related to this. I have spoke with 5 people who all told me something different, had me do something different, claimed to have escalated to engineering and never called me back when they said they would. Reading other’s questions it sounds like if someone marks you as spam your iMessage will be blocked. I have never spammed anyone and haven’t even sent a message from that Apple ID since May and for 6 months prior I rarely used it. There are messages in it I need!!!! How is blocking my iMessage going to keep the real spammers from doing it. If I really was spamming I could just set up another ID with new email. Blocking innocent customer’s iMessage makes zero sense plus the Apple techs don’t even know what to do and do not follow through. This is NOT the answer to prevent spam but it is the answer to Apple losing customers!! I have been an Apple customer for years but reconsidering after this experience. It is unbelievable this is a process they use. I also hope Apple actually listens to phone calls because they have a hot mess happening.

Apple Support escalating an issue to engineering usually means they’ve identified some problem, and you will waiting for some future update to Messages or to iCloud servers that resolves whatever is or is not happening.

How long that resolution might require, nobody here knows. Apple isn’t here.

In the interim, consider using an alternative messaging app; using Signal or otherwise.

Same thing has happened to me know twice!! They told me someone reported me as spam but couldn’t tell me who or when. They unlocked it but it took a few days. Then now it’s happened again!! The Senior Rep told me there was no one higher than him to speak to and for me to change my phone number or go to At and T. No solution at all. Was on hold for almost an hr while they tried to figure out why to only be told they can’t remove the block. 😡
