iMac so running slow

I have a Mid 2015 iMac Retina 5K 27 inch mac OS Big Sur 11.7.10 Memory 8GB 1600 MHZ

My problem is it takes so long to bring up most any site or app, it churns. My iPad is very quick. I use my iMac daily and would like it to be faster. Do I need a new iMac? Will an iMac mini work with it? I do not do any graphics and stream very little. Streaming works once I get to the site. (For example:watching a golf tournament or basketball game). I love the 27 inch monitor. Thank you in advance for your kind response.

if I had to guess, your Mac is HDD based. that would explain the slowness. it could also be a software issue. so rather than playing 20 questions, i'm thinking you should download and run the free version of EtreCheck so we can see if you have some software installed that is causing your issue. make sure you give "full disk access" to etrecheck. Learn how to use it by reading Using EtreCheck. if you need help interpreting the report, you can see how to post the report here by reading How to use the Add Text Feature When Posting Large Amounts of Text, i.e. an Etrecheck Report. and it automatically obscures sensitive things (like serial numbers) so you don't have to worry about sharing the report here.

+1 on an EtreCheck report. I also agree that. the computer is likely HD based and at 10 years old the HD is probably done. Also, because the computer is 10 years old it is obsolete (meaning it cannot run current versions of Mac OS) and Apple considers it vintage meaning parts are no longer made for it. That being said if you use the computer regularly then you should probably consider replacing it.
