Ok so google really isn't helping so ive come here.

I recently bought a MacBook Pro Touch Bar 2019, I did buy it refurbished.

now my keyboard doesn't light up and the slider in my panel doesn't work and it doesn't do anything in the Touch Bar either. There is no other options in my settings (other then adding the control into the control centre) for the keyboard brightness. However, when I reboot my computer the keyboard will light up but then after I have logged in it will no longer work, so I know it has nothing to do with the keyboard itself and that the lighting isn't broken. Is there a way to fix this through maybe a keyboard restart/update? I have googled so many different things and most of them are saying to do things in setting but again I don't have any of these options in my settings for some reason which is all very strange to me. I did mention that I bought it refurbished so maybe this could be why, but also why does it light up when it has been restarted? Hmmm strange.....hoping someone can help on here before I go and take it into a professional. (cause I know with technology it can be something so simple that they will charge an arm and leg for that I could have just done myself) TIA

If it is not working as expectd out of the box—I would return it. Refurbs fall under the same policy/same warranty as a brand new Mac.
