Why I am getting text messages from a blocked contact?
I have blocked a contact but still receding text messages? Why

Make sure that the contact had both the email address and the phone number blocked. A person can send an iMessage from either their phone number or Apple ID and if their contact only showed their phone number and you blocked that, then it may be possible that they are still able to send you an iMessage using their email address.
In the message, go to their contact on the top of the page, then choose the Info button. Do you see the option to Block the Caller there or is it saying Unblock this Caller?
