Recents under Favorites not working

Does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled temporarily.

Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.

if no resolve I would rebuild the Spotlight Index:

Go > Recent Folders > Clear Menu worked fine until I recently updated to Sonoma 14.6. It worked when I restarted in Safe Mode, but didn't when I restarted normally. Next attempt will be to reinstall macOS Sonoma. Very annoying.
