When i log on home page shows a number of apps which i have to close and not used. I always close apps when finished using

Why do apps appear open on screen when I’ve logged on. I always close apps so don’t understand why they appear on Home Screen once I’ve logged on

iMac 24″, macOS 14.6

Possibly some apps have been added to the Login Items?
