How can I use a Magic Keyboard with my iPad?

Real simple question. I just want to use actual keyboard. Do not like the floating keyboard. Called apple support who could not help me get it back to the physical keyboard for some reason. Want to physically type from the keyboard itself, not on the screen .. Thx
