I've been researching online about the charger defects. When the macbook pro charger is charging it shows the green light, but when i tried to charge, it suddenly gave the red beeping light. It happened like 2 months ago and I've been using another charger. Not a macbook charger but it works. The macbook is still in warranty till December 2024. But is the charger covered by warranty? Should I contact apple customer service?

Apple […] warrants the Apple-branded hardware product and Apple-branded accessories contained in the original packaging against defects in materials and workmanship when used normally in accordance with Apple's published guidelines for a period of ONE (1) YEAR from the date of original retail purchase by the end-user purchaser ("Warranty Period").
That will depend on the details of how old the product is (do you still have the purchase receipt?), on exactly what is wrong with it, and if it was caused by its original state or later during use. It will need to be inspected before anything can be said.
If it is determined to be covered by warranty, then the power adapter would get exchanged without cost to you, possibly excluding postage when applicable.
