Photos location map in Info panel

MacOS 14.6.1, Photos 9.0

The majority of my photos are imported into Photos from small cameras without GPS, so I take the time to manually add locations after import. For any photos which are in urban areas, the street map view is sufficient (see screen shot), but most of my photos are taken either on rural roads or in remote, off-road locations. For these latter photos, the street map view in the Info panel is insufficient to place a pin (compare 2nd screen shot).

I need to view that map for an individual photo in satellite mode. I'm aware I can view sets of photos by Days or Months in satellite mode, but that's no help when placing (or editing) the pin for individual photos.

Is there a way to toggle to a satellite mode in the Info panel on individual photos, or set satellite mode as default?

p.s. The satelllite view was available in my old beloved iPhoto app.

p.p.s. I'm also aware that there are GPS-enabled point-and-shoot cameras and/or third-party apps which help add GPS to photos. Those options are currently unavailable to me.

If I need to get a precise location, I open the Maps app, and I drop a pin at the place I need. For instance, here I've dropped a pin in the satellite view of a random place in North Texas:

From there I copy the latitude and longitude, and then I paste that into the GPS filed of the Photos Info window, like this:

(obviously not a place in North Texas!) The map then appears with the proper location.

I much prefer to use the Maps app to messing with that little map in the Info window!

I hope this works for you....

It helps that you can select lots of pictures in the same location, and change them all at once. For many pictures, I have copied several locations to a text file, and then pasted from the text file.

I have lots of pre-GPS pictures, but most can be done with addresses. I still have lots to go...
