sports streaming not working on iPad

Sports streaming is not working on my iPad.

It works fine on my iPhone (mobile data or home Wi-Fi).

Both have the latest iOS versions. The iPad is 2 months old.

The problem is independent of whichever browser I use (on either device).

Accessing sites such as VipRow.nu works fine up until all the Ads have been viewed/cancelled and I click on the red “play” icon. On the iPhone, the stream starts playing. On the iPad, all I get is a looping circle “waiting” icon, and nothing happens. I normally use Safari: but it is a similar situation with Chrome or Edge.

I have reset my networks and privacy settings, and done hard resets.

Have I missed something or done something stupid?

Any advice gratefully received.
