I am unable to pair my Apple Watch with my iPhone 14 Plus

Because of my damaged iPhone 11 Pro I had to purchase a new: an iPhone 14 Plus. Trying to pair the new one with my Watch didn't succeed:-( What to do?

Did you unpair the Apple Watch from your old iPhone by erasing the Apple Watch and then pairing it again to the new iPhone?
