Why won't my Apple Watch SE pair with my new iPhone?

I’ve just recently changed my phone from 11 to 16 pro max and I am having issues pairing my Apple Watch SE.

The original transfer and pairing was unsuccessful hence I removed and tried to re-pair. However it was unable to detect it.

I had also removed it from my old phone but it still doesn’t detect it for pairing. Kindly assist.

Just an update, and since quite a handful are facing issues with transferring to iPhone 16 series.

Easiest way:

1) unpair Apple watch

2) reset and erase Apple Watch (via the watch)

3) re pair the watch

4) restore back up of the watch

Hope this helps whoever that is facing similar issue.

Oh yea so I did! And it worked.

I was looking thru the forums and found that quite a handful are facing similar issues when transferring to the new iPhone 16.

technically you have to unpair and erase your Apple Watch and reset all the pairing again.

No worries on the set up of the “new” Apple Watch because you are able to restore back up. Thank you so much for checking in!
