If any of Apple Music, Apple TV or Apple Devices are installed then iTunes is only able to display and manage audiobooks and podcasts, and it loses is syncing/backup functions which are then supposed to be managed via Apple Devices. Personally I would uninstall the newer apps and stick with iTunes, at least until Apple provide Windows versions of Books/Audiobooks and Podcasts.

It's because that's how Apple designed it. Why they chose that route, none of us here can say. Once you install the newer apps, as TuringTest said, you can no longer use iTunes to sync with your iPhone and must use the other apps. If you don't want to do that, uninstall those newer apps and go back to just using iTunes (which you may need to reinstall).
Regards.
If I understand your question, and you have a Windows computer the "fix" would likely be:
Uninstall:
Reboot
Install iTunes, most people Microsoft Store version NOT the stand-alone download version.
Why iTunes loses its sync function because Apple Devices application installed? is it sort of conflicting software?
Which application performs better in sync with iPhones and back up and reset iTunes or Apple Devices? I do not use music?

Is anyone successfully using the new app to sync. their iPhone to Outlook?
My guess would be no. Apple made a statement about such syncing being removed from a future version of iTunes a while back, so it would actually surprise me if those features have made it into the new Devices app. Cloud syncing is the preferred strategy as far as I can tell.

Apple Devices you would use if you have Apple Music. If you're still using iTunes, then you can still use iTunes to sync. If you install both, iTunes will not have accessible music in it anymore.
I have iTunes not detecting my iPhone any longer why is that and how can I solve it?
Apple Devices application still installed and detects my iPhone, which one to choses to back up and restore iPhone?
Thanks tt2!
I sometimes work in places where the nearest internet connection is a 15 minute bicycle ride away,
and when I arrive I get .................... Oh............ a blazing 2mb/s
It's going to be a sad day for me when I have to start looking for an alternative :-(
Hello and thank you for your time, I also have this problem that my device calls my iPhone Mac and practically does not recognize my phone, and this problem has caused my watch to be stolen first after sending the mode by mistake and to remove this mode, the watch face is blackened and in general, my iPhone system is malfunctioning.
Is anyone successfully using the new app to sync. their iPhone to Outlook?
Problem solved thank you, iTunes now recognise my iPhone, are there more features or different features in Apple Devices?
No how to do this?
