Apple phone support just recommended a Fitbit to track sleep to overcome the shortcomings of Apple Watch. Is anyone here more useful?
A representative from Apple support informed me that the Watch does not track sleep with the same consistency and accuracy as other devices on the market. He recommended I purchase a Fitbit instead of the Apple Watch Series 9 if sleep tracking is an important feature.
I get that the Sleep app is designed for people who sleep the same hours each night. Parents and other irregular sleepers are out of luck. I've read a few of the hundreds of posts on this topic, but I'm hoping to learn a bit more from the community.
Is Fitbit really the best option? What is the best third-party app these days? Why would Apple tell me to purchase a competitors product due to shortcomings in the Watch? Are there other issues of concern with this product?
For anyone who has used a Fitbit recently, is it a better product than Apple Watch? I don't really care about all of the bells and whistles if the basic features don't function. Are there any other recommendations for third-party products? Apple clearly thinks that Fitbit is the winner, but I'm curious to learn what everyone else thinks.
