CarPlay not working after iOS 17.6.1 Update

Apple car play isn’t working after 17.6.1 update.

I have reset iPhone, car audio interface.

deleted and re- set up all connections

all of the settings are appropriate

sometimes it comes up but won’t connect other times just not seeing any device.

Car is a Nissan Xtrail.

Apple - looks like you have a global issue needs a patch fix asap !!!

My BMW X5 CarPlay not working after the iOS update. Apple Maps just responds waiting for server but never connects. I’ve done all of the things suggested so it must be the iOS update that’s ruined what was working well. 😡. Apple please acknowledge this problem and fix it asap!!!

Same here since 17.6.1 on 2024 Dodge Durango and 2023 Nissan Pathfinder. Shows that it’s connected with the cable but just a generic name of “iPhone”. But won’t connect for CarPlay. 2 USB ports, 2 different cables. Reset everything. Still no connection. Very frustrating. Defeats the function of “hands free”!

With any normal company, we could just go back to 17.5.1, which worked like a charm. With Apple we are stuck.

I don’t know if there is any app to connect to hands free if the operating system does not work.

I am out of ideas to fix it.

After the 17.6.1 update I am also having problems with CarPlay connecting in my 2021 Nissan Rogue, it worked just fine until after the update. My biggest problem is it won’t work with Google maps; Apple Maps, or Waze for navigation. It freezes when I try to search where I need to go and if it does connect it stops and freezes and goes offline. I have to use the phone navigation without connecting in order for it to work. I did all the things, restarted the phone, the car, checked the apps for updates but clearly other people are having issues!Please fix!

Nearly the SAME exact thing happened to me with my 2019 Ram Limited…

It seems like I have a couple of different situations in my scenario than the originator of this thread. See below:

• my 2019 Ram requires a direct connection for Apple CarPlay to work (wired not wireless).
• my previous phone (old phone I just upgraded from and am about to return for the trade in) still works after the updates. It is on the latest update PRIOR to iOS 18. The old phone is an Apple iPhone 12 Pro…
• I upgraded to the NEW iPhone 16 Pro (1T storage) which is running on the latest firmware, iOS 18. Now my Apple CarPlay will not work in my truck!
• Bluetooth still works (for media but NOT CarPlay… again, my truck does not have wireless CarPlay due to it being a 2019)

I’ve done ALL the things to try and fix this issue so I have Apple CarPlay again, with my new phone! What gives and how do we fix this, Apple!?

I am having the same issue with a Toyota tacoma

CP works ok with both our 17.6.1 iPhones in our Dodge Ram

neither work on the Honda Accord

so there is some car make specific issue since the update

we are lost without CarPlay

I’m currently thinking this may be my issue also on a 2024 Tahoe. Had been working fine for months and now can’t get it wireless or plug in wire on the last week.

Same issue in 2024 Subaru Outback

Partially working google maps seems to work but unable to get or make calls and spotify does not work on both my 2017 Volt and our van with an pioneer head unit.

I have the same problem with my hands free in my Toyota Verso 2015. I have seen that that car is not listed as a supported car for CarPlay.

So… it is a bug or really working as intended?

Same happens to me with a 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander

Need a fix!!
