Mac Music to USB stick

So I have music on my Mac… I want this in the car so have saved it to a USB….. the cars Apple play doesn’t recognise the USB despite it being done on the Mac……

Carplay is for connecting your device to the car. Whether the car recognizes USB, whether it can read the USB file structure, and what kinds of files it can cope with are all about that particular car's audio subsystem.


I'd suggest making sure the USB is formatted MS-DOS and the music files are in a common format like .mp3.


This isn't actually a macOS issue, and creating a music USB on a Mac doesn't mean anyhting - except that if you formatted the USB as HFS+ or something, or exported proprietary Apple audio formats, the car probably can't deal with either of those.
