I have recently received several messages saying my iPhone was hacked but I’m not sure where the messages came from . They just appeared on my iPhone 12 mini. Is there a way to make sure I have the latest security updates? I did check for regular updates.

If you have the latest software update, you are up to date security wise.
Scam messages that are trying to trick you into believing there is a problem with your phone are very commons. All these messages are trying to do is sell you useless software that will do nothing to help your phone.
Simply delete the messages and keep working.
Settings>General>Software Update.
That's it.
The messages are a scam.
