Lost Mode not deactivating

I lost my iPhone last night and I was very lucky to have a friend that found it.

But before it was found my iPad and iCloud could not locate the iPhone even though it was powered on and in an area of good coverage. When I got my hands on the phone it had 2 bars out of 4 for coverage.

I activated lost mode as a precaution but now I have the phone back I cannot deactivate lost mode. This means my wallet 💳 won’t work.

when I try enter passcode to deactivate lost mode nothing happens.

any iPhone Yoda’s out there with the answer?

id happily buy a new phone if it meant a fix to the problem but im guessing lost mode would transfer with me.
