SIM not supported

I purchased my iPhone from a UAE-based seller called "Speed Mobile Phone," which is not a mobile carrier. Since the purchase, I’ve been using it without issues with my home carrier, Orange. However, after performing a reset on the iPhone, I now see a "SIM Not Supported" message during the activation process. Could you please provide a solution for this issue?

I’m assuming this now-reset phone is rejecting the Orange SIM, a SIM which previously worked.

Is the now-reset phone now listed as carrier-locked? If so, contact the UAE seller.

Settings > General > About > Carrier Lock. For an unlocked device, that should show “No SIM Lock”.

Nobody here can assist with removing a carrier lock restriction.

I contacted the seller, and they confirmed that they are not associated with any carrier.

Yes, but that is unfortunately not a particularly useful statement.

Is the phone showing as carrier-locked in settings? Or as unlocked?

Various phone resellers can sell phones that will carrier-lock to the first SIM loaded; reseller flex policy lock phones.

Finding other phones that might appear to be carrier-unlocked until a reset is performed would not surprise, either.
