How to Factory Reset my Mac running macOS High Sierra?

I have a Mac OS High Sierra version 10.1 3.6. It’s a 13 inch, mid 2012. I’m trying to factory reset this computer because I have a friend that needs one just for surfing the Internet and watching a video. I followed the steps macOS utility, I click on disc utility and all it shows is OS X base system in the sidebar. On the main screen, it says 0SX base system and under that it says disc image volume – Mac OS extended. It doesn’t allow me to erase and it does not show the Mac OS disk. Can anyone help me to get this computer back to factory settings, please?

These are important, otherwise you're unable to provide the

second-owner or other legitimate user, any access into Mac.

Details about hard drive, as shown as you see them, are due

to choice of hard drive partition from Disk Utility. Try another.

OS X base system is not where your data is stored. Try changing the view in the top left to show all devices.

The computer's internal drive is dead or not properly connected. This generally requires a hardware repair; given the unit's age; it's likely more cost-effective to buy a different one instead.

The computer works just fine. I can boot it up with no problem and use it. I’m just not able to get it back to factory settings. I’m not an expert, but I do know that it works cause I’ve just used it.
