Stage manager - desktop view not working: only mirrors, not extends

I am reaching out regarding an issue with my iPad Pro 11 running iPadOS 17.5.1. I am experiencing difficulties using my iPad in desktop mode with Stage Manager. Specifically:
- I have activated Stage Manager on my iPad.
- I connected both the mouse and keyboard before connecting the external monitor.
- Despite following the setup instructions, the external monitor only mirrors the iPad display, and I do not see the “Arrangement” option that is typically used to manage display settings.
- I have attempted the following troubleshooting steps without success:
- Restarted the iPad.
- Verified connections and cables.
- Checked the compatibility of the external monitor.
- Ensured that iPadOS is up to date.
Could you please provide guidance on how to resolve this issue or suggest any additional troubleshooting steps? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated, as I purchased the iPad Pro 11 specifically for its desktop mode capabilities.
