Link in what way? To do what?

What are you looking to accomplish exactly?

For example, you can log in to your Google account from your Android phone to access Email, contacts, calendar and notes on the iPad. Is that what you are wanting to do?

Phil0124 has the right idea.

Some of the features and services that you can use to link Apple devices together aren't really applicable when you are dealing with a mixture of Apple and non-Apple devices.

But as Phil points out, you can use e-mail accounts to synchronize e-mail, calendars, and contacts between an iPad and an Android smartphone. You could use Google Photos to synchronize photos between an iPad and an Android smartphone – though you would need to be careful if you were using iCloud Photos at the same time. You can hook up an iPad to Google Drive or Microsoft's OneDrive and use those in the Files app in a similar way to iCloud Drive.

You probably won't be able to do text messaging. The iPad Message app handles both

  • iMessages – an Apple thing that Android phones would not understand
  • SMS/MMS messages – a cell phone thing that the iPad would not be able to handle without the aid of an iPhone
