Apple Watch changing distance of historical Pool Swims

When I change the units or the pool length on my Apple Watch, Apple fitness then changes all of my historical pool swims. How do I stop that?

Example.

If I swim in a pool that is 25 meters long and record my swim with the Apple Watch, but then go to another pool that is 25 yards long and change the units from meters to yards, then Apple Fitness changes all of my historical swims from meters to yards.

Can I just set up two swim selections - one for yards and another for meters?

Finally, I have see this question posted elsewhere, but the answers seem to be non-existent.

Unfortunately, Apple Fitness does not currently support keeping separate swim entries for different pool lengths or units. When you change the units or pool length, it retroactively applies to all past swims.

A workaround is to manually adjust the units back to the original pool's settings after each swim or consider using third-party swim tracking apps that allow more customization. Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to set up separate selections for yards and meters within Apple Fitness itself.
