Black screen iPhone 15 Pro after update to 17.6.1

Updated iPhone 15 Pro to IOS 17.6.1 and approximately 1 hour later experienced "black screen of death" where the phone still vibrated, but I couldn't do anything. I connected the phone to a computer monitor via USB-C and could see the "power off" screen, but could not do anything.

I have hard reset using up volume tap, down volume tap, and lock hold several times. Each time it works for a few minutes and black screens me again.

Is there a planned 17.6.2 or a way to revert (it appears no in the many other questions)? How do I fix this?

The next thing to try would be restoring your iPhone to factory settings:

As to whether any further versions of iOS 17 will be released is something none of us can say. But it's unlikely that your problem is due to a bug in that release or we'd be seeing hundreds of reports. More likely is that something just got corrupted in your installation somehow.

I understand that. The advice to do a reset remains. If that fails, you should contact Apple Support or take the phone to an Apple Store or service center for further diagnosis.
