Empty trash on MacBook Air greyed out
Macbook Air 13 inch running Mac Os Monterey 12.7. 6
The line "empty trash" under File is greyed out. I tried turning the Mac off, but problem persists.
What to do?

Forgive what is probably a dumb question on my part, but have you confirmed that there are files actually in the Trash? If so, does the Empty button at the upper-right of the Trash window work?

Hmmm! I’m away from my Macbook right now, but will check out the answers to your question when I get home! Thank you!
It obviously wasn't a dumb question, because I had nothing in the trash! Thanks for illuminating the un enlightened!
