Switch Control has disabled my touchscreen on iPhoneX

I turned on switch control, on my iPhoneX, and a blue box tabbed around various pieces of displayed information on my iphone screen. Unfortunately, it disabled my iphone screen and would not let me disabled it.

I performed a hard reboot but that did not help. Pressing the power button 3 times brought up a display which had a tick next to Switch Control, however, as my touch screen was no longer working I could not deselect it.

In the end, I put my iPhoneX into DFU mode (vol up, vol down, hold power button, for ages, until DFU mode logo appears)

Finally, I went into Finder and selected recover/update my iphone which restored it back to factory settings after 4 attempts (iPhone stayed in DFU mode luckily, even though ICON changed to Apple)

Could I have done anything else ??

Are iPhoneX's prone to this issue (I am too scared to try it again)!

Apologies, I thought I explained this.

When I treble clicked the power button, I got a menu option with a tick next to Switch Control, however, the touchscreen was completely disabled and I could not turn it off (agonisingly). My screen had a blue rectangular outline, that just kept tabbing over various sections of the screen, in a never ending loop, and completely ignored any touch screen response.

I tried hard booting the iPhone several times but always got the same results - super frustrating!

Ohhh my bad, I didn’t really notice!

In that case, you might see an Apple specialist at the Apple Store who can diagnose what problem your iPhone has, and they’re gonna repair it. Or you can send your iPhone to Apple.

Again, it's fixed, I managed to restore it by putting the iPhoneX in DFU mode and restoring it, via Finder (even though it took several attempts), so it's fully restored and working now. My question is/was ....

.. "Was there anything else I could have tried before taking such drastic measures" and also to let anyone reading this, that there is a (albeit cumbersome) way to get the phone working again, if they get stuck with the same issue.
