I bought a Mac book air a few weeks ago and I have no set anything up no Apple ID or anything and I unfortunately got locked out of it because I forgot my password I’m wondering if there is anyway to factory reset it from the home screen

Try to startup with Recovery mode, then reformat internal drive with DiskUtility and reinstall macOS to factory resetting.
