How often should I charge my Apple Watch?

I just traded in my old Apple watch 4 to a 9. I would like to get some community suggestions of how often do users charge their watches on a daily basis or do they wait for it to drain down to a certain percentage. I do wear it during the night. I don't know if I am charging it too frequently and if charging too often can drain a battery? Thanks

It is better to get in the habit of changing every day, so you do not forget and totally drain the battery causing loss battery degradation.

Let the battery optimization do its thing.

If you are going to do sleep tracking, then quick charge before going to bed, and again in the morning after getting up.

If not sleep tracking, the charge while you sleep.

Thank you for this info. Having just upgraded from a 4, I am trying to see if charging to full or leaving it at the optimized level is best before I go to bed. I am a serious insomniac and would end up with my watch draining down to the 70s by morning. I had tried to track my sleep a long time ago on many occasions but when it thought I was in a deep sleep, I was actually watching TV in the middle of the night. I have to wear the watch at night due to an irregular heart rhythm occasionally and low rhythm when I sleep. I will keep testing to see how much my watch 9 drains at night and place on charger in the morning. Just want to do what's best for the battery. Plan to keep my 9 as long as it holds up.

Thank you. That was my thinking too. However, as not a real tech person, I am trying to dot my "I"s and cross my "T"s to get others' opinions. I do need to wear it at night to make sure I am alive in the morning :). It can be scary if you look at low heart rate data and see a slow rate of 39 at times.
